By giving secondhand books a new home, we're preventing unnecessary waste and extending the lifespan of something that was already created. It's one of the most straightforward ways to reduce our environmental footprint without compromising on quality or selection.

That book you purchase might have sat on a shelf for years, destined for disposal. Instead, it finds its way to someone who will treasure it, read it, and perhaps pass it on again.
Sustainability Beyond the Books
Our commitment to the environment doesn't stop at our inventory. We've woven sustainability into other aspect of how we operate.
Our shipping labels are a perfect example. We sourced quality labels that were heading to waste—perfectly good materials that would have ended up in landfill simply because they were surplus stock. Rather than let them go to waste, we put them to work protecting your orders. It's a small change that reflects our larger philosophy: use what's available, reduce what's unnecessary, and make conscious choices wherever we can.
We also use recycled bubble wrap for our packaging. Protecting your books during transit is essential, but it doesn't mean we need to use virgin plastic. Recycled bubble wrap does the job just as well while keeping plastic out of the waste stream and reducing demand for new petroleum-based materials. Our main source of bubble wrap come from the wine industry here in Marlborough.
